The Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun SAN has charged the newly elected alumni executive council members of the university to set their new plan of action, timelines and focus on the vision despite individual differences.
The Vice Chancellor during his remarks at the LASU alumni inauguration ceremony of the new elected members of the national executive council held Tuesday in Lagos opined that if timelines are not set on agendas, the newly elected executives will never achieved their desired results.
“Because of our different engagements if we don’t have timelines we will never make progress because you will never be able to audit yourself in terms of performance, timelines is what will determine your performance,” he said.
Fagbohun congratulated the executives and appreciated the members of the alumni for their unwavering support to the university and for taking on the university’s activities as additional burden outside their various job.
“We thank you for determining to add value to LASU, I knew the state I met the Alumni I charged you from the beginning that the alumni is a critical component of my vision, because without the alumni no university will survive, and today it has materialize. I thank you all.”
During his remarks, Gen. Cecil Esekhaigbe who was reelected as President of the Alumni gave compliments to the members for their N8million contribution towards the varsity research grant.
The president who called for more support from the members and re-strategizing of the alumni stated that an average LASU Alumnus can donate up to N150,000 per year.
“We have had a fair co-operation with the university management but this year there will be full co-operation and a better coordinated one with the school management and the sub structures that exist,” he pledged.
