TCN Boosts Power Transmission In Rivers State, Commissions 150MVA Power Transformer at Afam Substation

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), has boosted power transmission in Rivers State with the commissioning of new 150MVA Power transformer at Afam IV 330/132/33KV transmission substation.

TCN’s addition of the new transformer in its Port Harcourt Region has doubled the substation’s transformation capacity from 120MVA to 240MVA, according to a statement by the management.

The project has significantly enhanced TCN’s transmission capacity to Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Companys (PHEDC) load center, enabling the DisCo to off-take more electricity for onward distribution to electricity consumers in Port Harcourt metropolis and its environs.

The project constitutes part of the ongoing TCN-World Bank power projects aimed at enhancing the nation’s power supply.
