Gov. Namadi Lifts Five-Month Suspension On Aide Over Preemptive Announcement

Almost five months after, Gov. Umar Namadi, of Jigawa state has lifted the suspension of his Special Adviser on Salary and Pension, Bashir Ado Kazaure

This was contained in a statement Wednesday in Dutse by the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, (SSG) Malam Bala Ibrahim.

Kazaure was suspended on October 13, 2024 over alleged “pre-emptive” and unauthorized announcement of the N 70,000 minimum wage for workers in the state even the State Minimum Wage Implementation Committee conclude and submit its reports.

Subsequently a probe panel was set up to investigate the official for the breach of official protocol of announcing the wage without due authorization.

The statement explained that, the action comes after a thorough investigation led by a committee chaired by the State Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Bello Abdulkadir Fanini.

“The committee’s report addressed the circumstances surrounding Kazaure’s suspension, which had been enacted due to a premature announcement concerning a proposed minimum wage of N70,000” the SSG said.

The SSG disclosed that, the decision to lift the suspension reflects the Governor’s commitment to uphold fairness and due process in the handling of such matters.
