The University of Abuja (UniAbuja) management has celebrated some of its staff with awards for their outstanding services to the University in the last one year.
The “2024 Meritorious Service Award” ceremony organised by the SERVICOM unit of the University, also witnessed presentation of awards to the best performing faculties for the year.
While presenting the awards to the recipients, the acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Aisha Sani Maikudi, said the awards demonstrate the University’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding excellence, innovation and dedication to its community.
She lauded the awardees and urged them to continue to give their best for the overall growth of the University.
The Faculty of Science emerged the overall winner, receiving the coveted “Faculty of the Year” award.
Other faculties that received the 2024 Meritorious service award for their outstanding services include Faculty of Agriculture (Agricultural Innovation, Collaboration, and Development) award; Faculty of Law ( High Aesthetic Values; Clean premises and Lecture rooms)award; Faculty of Engineering (Technological Innovations and Environmental Cleanliness) award; while the faculties of Management Sciences and Science were both awarded the Staff-Student Relationship and Collaborative, and Quality Leadership prize.
Other recipients of the awards include College of Health Sciences (Maintenance of High Academic Standards/Student-Centred Services) award; Institute of Education (Visionary Service and Strategic Thinking) award; while the Postgraduate School was also recognized for the clearance of backlog of PG students.
The departments of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology were also awarded for prompt submission of examination results for the 2023/2024 Academic Session.
