UniAbuja Acting VC, Prof Maikudi Writes Students, Assures Enabling Academic Environment

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Prof. Aisha Sani Maikudi, has assured working with the students to enhance enabling academic environment to achieve excellent outcomes.

He gave assurance in a personally signed message posted on the verified Facebook page of the University on Tuesday.

It would be recalled that Prof. Sani Maikudi took over on Monday, July 1st, 2024, the affairs of the University from the former Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, whose five years term of office  ended elapsed on June 30, 2024.

She urged the students share their ideas and feedback with her and the University administration, assuring them that they (students) would be listened to.

This marked a clear departure from her predecessor, who throughout his tenure exhibited intolerance to students’ opinions and banned Students unionism.

According to her, “Together, we can foster a community where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to achieve their full potential. I look forward to working alongside you and making our University a place of excellence, innovation, and inclusivity”.

Prof. Maikudi on Monday in an acceptance remarks to the University community said: “I am deeply aware of the challenges that we face but I am equally confident in our collective ability to overcome them. Our strength lies  in our unity and shared dedication to the principles of education and research. I encourage each of you to continue to bring your passion, ideas, and energy to our University, as we navigate the opportunities and challenges ahead.”

MESSAGE FROM OUR ACTING VICE-CHANCELLOR

Dear Students,

I am honored and excited to address you as the  newly appointed Acting Vice- Chancellor of our University. It is a privilege to serve in this role, and I want to assure you that my primary commitment is to your success, well-being, and growth.

Your experiences, aspirations, and challenges are at the heart of our University’s mission. I am dedicated to supporting you in every possible way, ensuring that you have the resources, opportunities, and environment needed to thrive academically, personally, and professionally.

I pledge to actively listen to your concerns, advocate for your needs, and work collaboratively with you to enhance our campus life and academic programmes. Your voice matters, and I encourage you to share your ideas and feedback with me and the University administration. We will listen.
