Leadway Capital & Trusts Limited (LCTL) has announced a leadership transition following the retirement of its Managing Director, Ayodeji Wuraola.

The company revealed in a statement signed by its cooperate communication department that Sola Seweje will step into the role of CEO, effective immediately, as the firm embarks on a new chapter of growth and innovation.

According to the firm, Mr. Wuraola, who led the company through a period of sustained expansion, officially retired on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, after years of steering the firm toward new heights.
His tenure saw Leadway Capital & Trusts solidify its position in the trust and will services industry, serving a wide range of clients, including corporate bodies, government agencies, and individuals.

Reflecting on his time at LCTL, Mr. Wuraola expressed gratitude for the support from the team and stakeholders. “It has been an honour to lead this organisation and contribute to its achievements. I am deeply grateful to our clients and directors for their support over the years. I am confident that Sola Seweje, with her extensive experience, will continue to drive the company forward,” he said.

Ms. Seweje, who now takes the reins, brings over 18 years of experience in the financial services industry, particularly in trust services, asset management, and financial planning. Prior to her appointment, she held senior roles at Capital Express Global Trustees Limited, Coronation Trustees Limited, and United Capital Trustees Limited, earning a reputation for driving strategic business expansion and delivering tailored solutions for high-net-worth clients and institutions.

Speaking on her new role, Ms. Seweje shared her enthusiasm: “I am truly honoured to take on this leadership position at such a pivotal moment. Mr. Wuraola’s legacy is one of excellence and dedication, and I am committed to building on the strong foundation he established. Together with the management team, we will continue to deliver innovative solutions that maintain our leadership in the financial services sector.”

The leadership change signals LCTL’s continued commitment to excellence in trust and will writing services, while reinforcing its client-focused approach. As the company transitions under Ms. Seweje’s guidance, it remains poised to strengthen its position in the Nigerian financial landscape, ensuring long-term business and generational continuity for its clients.

With the transition, Leadway Capital & Trusts Limited reaffirms its dedication to maintaining the trust and confidence of its clients as it navigates this exciting new phase of growth.
