The Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria (PenOp) has announced the appointment of Anthonia Ifeanyi-Okoro as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), marking a strategic move to bolster the association’s operational and strategic capacity.
With over 15 years of experience spanning business transformation, operations, and strategic delivery, Ifeanyi-Okoro joins PenOp from a career that has included key roles across business member organizations and central government institutions in the United Kingdom.
Her background in managing large portfolios, programmes, and high-level stakeholder engagements is expected to strengthen PenOp’s ability to navigate the complexities of Nigeria’s pension industry.
PenOp CEO, Oguche Agudah, said the appointment aligns with the association’s commitment to building a stronger and more responsive institution to meet the evolving needs of the sector.
“Anthonia’s experience working with diverse and influential stakeholders, both in the private and public sectors, makes her a valuable addition to the PenOp team.”
“A significant part of our work involves managing various interests across the pension ecosystem, and we are confident that Anthonia’s background equips her well to lead in this capacity.”
Speaking on her new role, Ifeanyi-Okoro expressed enthusiasm about contributing to the development of Nigeria’s pension space and economic stability.
“I’m excited to be part of an organization that plays such a vital role in Nigeria’s financial and economic landscape,” she said.
“I look forward to bringing my experience to bear in helping move the association and indeed the industry forward.”
“More importantly, I’m passionate about contributing to Nigeria’s economic development by supporting financial stability, improving retirement planning, and enhancing the long-term wellbeing of millions of Nigerians,” she added.
PenOp said it remains committed to deepening the impact of pension investments in the country and believes the new COO’s leadership will accelerate progress toward its goals.
