Former President Goodluck Jonathan says Nigeria did not lose 49.8 billion dollars under his administration as alleged by the 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, the second.
The Former President spoke in Abuja at the launch of a book titled, ‘Public Policy And Agent Interests: Perspectives From The Emerging World’, co-authored by former minister of finance, Shamsuddeen Usman.
Former President Jonathan also refuted the claim that his administration sacked Sanusi as the then-Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, explaining that he was only suspended.
However, hours after former President Jonathan left the podium, the Emir of Kano, who was the royal father of the event, mounted the same podium and insisted that the former President sacked him as CBN governor contrary to the former President’s claim that he was only suspended.
The Emir told the gathering that he was constructively dismissed but continues to respect Dr Jonathan and does not hold a grudge against anyone.
