The leadership of Kaiama APC stakeholders, elders, and concerned political leaders failed to agree on a consensus candidate and as result, all 8 candidates vying for APC ticket for the APC House of Representatives in the Baruten–Kaiama Federal Constituency are in the race for today’s election.
Despite extensive consultations and efforts made in the interest of unity and political harmony, the conditions necessary to sustain the consensus arrangement could not be maintained following disagreements among the six initial aspirants that planned to do a consensus.
The disagreement emerged after one of the six candidates discussing the consensus finally decided he would not participate in the arrangement and would go ahead and run.
Consequently, all eight aspirants are now fully in the race and are freely pursuing their ambitions through the democratic process provided by the party ahead of the APC primary election.
However, given the reports that four aspirants may have been disqualified by the the APC National Headquarters, it appears that only the other four candidates may end up contesting in the primary election.
They are Hon. Aliyu Umar Mande, Comrade Abubakar Musa Shamaki, Arc. Aliyu Muhammad Saiffudeen and Malam Anas Adamu Galadima (Zam-Zam).
Party members across Kaiama and Baruten Local Governments have been encouraged by the Kaiama LGA Chapter of APC to remain calm, law-abiding, and focused on strengthening the party ahead of the forthcoming primary and general elections.
