Super Eagles Coach, Austin Eguavoen, has stepped down from his role as the head coach of the Nigerian national team.
His resignation is coming less than 48 hours after the abysmal performance of the Super Eagles players at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, in an encounter against the Black Stars of Ghana for qualification for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Eguavoen who was the Head Coach failed to qualify the Super Eagles for the World Cup in Qatar as Ghana drew 1-1 with Nigeria in Abuja, after an earlier goalless draw with the Black Stars in the first leg of the Match in Kumasi, Ghana.
According to reports by Brilla FM, the former Nigerian defender will return to his role as Technical Director of all national teams.
Reliable sources revealed that Eguavoen has sent an official letter to the NFF stating his decision, Brilla FM added.
