CIIN Backs IMT’s Fifth Edition, Says Innovation Must Go Beyond Technology

The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) has renewed its institutional partnership with Insurance Meets Tech (IMT) for the fifth edition of its annual conference, reinforcing efforts to deepen collaboration between the insurance and technology sectors.

The partnership will see CIIN lend its institutional and professional support to IMT 5.0, scheduled for November 20, 2026, at the Balmoral Event Centre, Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.

The renewed collaboration is expected to strengthen industry engagement on innovation, professional development and the adoption of technology in Nigeria’s insurance sector.

Speaking on the partnership, CIIN President and Chairman of Council, Mr. Akinjide Orimolade, said the institute’s continued support for the conference reflected the need to align technological innovation with professional competence and customer-focused service.

He said the platform would provide an opportunity for stakeholders to challenge existing industry practices and explore ways of building a more connected and technology-driven insurance sector.

Orimolade added that the institute’s involvement in the fifth edition reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that could shape the industry’s future.

The Founder and Convener of IMT and Chief Executive Officer of CreatoUrban, Odion Aleobua, said CIIN’s continued institutional backing underscored the credibility the conference had built over its previous four editions.

He said the partnership would strengthen the platform’s capacity to bring together relevant stakeholders, encourage industry dialogue and explore solutions to challenges facing the insurance and technology sectors.

The fifth edition, themed, Building Insurance That Connects, will focus on digital transformation, emerging technologies, customer experience and professional development, with keynote sessions, panel discussions, technology showcases and networking opportunities scheduled for the conference.

Since its inception, IMT has provided a platform for insurance professionals and technology innovators to exchange ideas on the role of technology in the industry’s development.

The renewed partnership with CIIN is expected to sustain that engagement, with both organisations seeking to promote closer ties between professional insurance practice and technological innovation.
