The Jigawa state Governor, Umar Namadi of Jigawa state has expressed confidence that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would repeat its victory come 2027 general elections .
He however, said the APC, as a democratic institution welcomes the full participation in the polls by the opposition political parties, pledging, deliver the over one million votes promised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
The governor, who made the remarks while speaking to journalists shortly after casting his vote in the presidential primaries in ward in his home local government Kafin Hausa, said
The governor noted that the high turnout of party members during the primary election was a clear testimony to the confidence and trust the people of Jigawa have in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“As you can see, the people have lined up in masses for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while nobody is on the side of his opponents. This is a testimony to how popular the President is in the minds of the people of Jigawa.”
“If you look at how the exercise is going on, you can believe me that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu embodies democracy and believes in internal democracy as pivotal for national democratic survival, peace, and progress of the country,” Governor Namadi stated.
The governor, however, reassured that the outcome of the presidential primary will also be enough to send a signal to opposition parties that the APC is on the path to clear victory at all levels in the forthcoming 2027 general election.
Namadi commended APC members and all good people of Jigawa for displaying moral discipline and integrity during the exercise from its beginning to the end. He urged them to also go back and strategize for the upcoming 2027 general election.
The governor has a special message for the opposition, saying, “This is democracy, whenever you go the polls, it’s the people that determine your fate, from what we’re seeing it is going to be a clear contest.
“So for APC as a party we’re waiting for anybody to come and contest with us, I can assure you that we’ll be able to deliver Mr. President come 2027 inshallah.”
Meanwhile, with a total of 206, 520 Votes, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday defeated his lone challenger Stanley Osifo in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Primaries which took place in Jigawa state.
Announcing the result at the Presidential Lodge in Dutse, last night the state capital, Governor Umar Namadi, who is the Returning Officer for the state noted that Mr. Osifo did not score any vote.
According to him, 330, 327 with the accredited voter’s figure standing at 206, 520 as against Osifo ‘s zero vote.
