A prominent political figure in Jigawa state, Alhaji Muhammad Maifulani Dutse, has thrown his weight behind the possible re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu and Malam Umar Namadi as the governor of the state.
To match his words with action, Maifulani, who is the state chairman of the Butchers and Livestock Sellers’ Association organized a symbolic “fund-raising” with a N1 million donation for the purchase of nomination forms for the duo.
He citied their “exemplary leadership and transformative” impacts on people’s lives as the reason for this initiative and challenged the well-to-do individuals in the society and the general public to come forward and donate in appreciation to the two leaders’ sacrifice for their citizens’ wellbeing.
He emphasized the need to start early so well-meaning citizens can contribute according to their means ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He noted that within two years, the Tinubu administration had significantly improved Nigeria’s revenue generation, enhancing infrastructure and public services to drive growth.
“The ‘Renewed Hope’ Agenda is making an impact, and we must all rally behind it to transform our country into a better place for all,” he said.
“In Jigawa State, the 12-Point agenda of Governor Namadi has fast-tracked the transformation in all aspects of human endeavour for the past two years” this includes the completion of 25 inherited road projects and the awarding of 42 new ones”
“Additionally, over 180 primary healthcare centres have been upgraded, more than 1,200 health workers employed, 6,000 teachers recruited, and 600,000 youths and women empowered through small and medium-scale business support. Agriculture has also received unprecedented attention”
“Today, Jigawa is on the path to prosperity. We, the people, have endorsed Tinubu and Governor Namadi for a second term and urge patriotic Nigerians to donate generously toward their nomination forms in appreciation of their sacrifices for our well-being,” he declared.
He urged the governor to lead the fundraising efforts for Tinubu in the state, while Maiunguwa Jaga was nominated to coordinate for the governor’s re-election bid.
