The Transmission Company of Nigeria has embarked on a four-day transmission lines maintenance work on towers 244 and 246.
Consequently, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) explained that power supply to Kontagora, Tegina, Kagara and surrounding towns and villages will be interrupted from Thursday Dec. 10th, 2020 till Monday 14th December, 2020 as a result of the need to maintain the Kontagora 132/33kV transmission line serving the affected areas which stretches through the towers.
A statement from the AEDC management further said that during the exercise, the Kainji Line Maintenance crew of the TCN, which handle the exercise will fabricate and replace the cross arms on tower 244 and 246, which had become necessary.
AEDC appealed for the understanding of its customers, adding that the maintenance exercise is intended to enable its customers enjoy better power supply.
It said: “Our colleagues in TCN have assured us of their readiness to complete the exercise within the stipulated time and restore supply immediately.
“Our customers should therefore have no fear about the commitment of our colleagues in TCN to the completion of the exercise and the restoration of supply within the stipulated time.”
