The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has successfully restored bulk electricity supply on both the Uyo/Itu 132kV Transmission Line in Akwa Ibom State and the Kumbotso–Dan’Agundi 132kV Transmission Line in Kano State following the completion of scheduled maintenance and transmission works.

TCN announced that power supply through the Uyo/Itu 132kV transmission line was restored at about 8:15 p.m. on October 31, 2026, after its maintenance crew completed annual preventive maintenance that began earlier in the day.

The planned exercise had temporarily interrupted supply from 10:00 a.m., affecting the ability of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) to supply electricity to customers in Eket, Ikot Abasi, Etinan, Ikot Ekpene, Onna, and Uyo Complex.

Similarly, in Kano, TCN confirmed that the Kumbotso–Dan’Agundi 132kV Transmission Line was successfully re-energised at 11:39 a.m. on November 1, 2026, following the completion of scheduled transmission works.

The restoration enables the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) to resume normal electricity distribution to customers across Kano metropolis and surrounding areas.

The company noted that both projects formed part of its commitment to maintaining and strengthening the national transmission network to ensure reliable bulk power delivery across the country.

TCN expressed appreciation to affected customers for their patience and apologised for the temporary inconveniences experienced during the maintenance period, reiterating its dedication to the continuous improvement of transmission infrastructure and enhanced service delivery nationwide.
