The President -Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, returned to the country Monday but with medical syringe on his right even though he said “I am hale and hearty’.

The medical syringe was sighted as he raised hands to wave to his supporters who had thronged to welcome him.

This was confirmed as trending picture of him with a medical syringe attached to his elbow while waiving to his party members and supporters who came to welcome him at the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport, surfaced online.

Through, he said he was hale and hearty but the sighting of the syringe raises concern over his state of health which had been in speculation since he left the country to Paris.

The speculation over his state of health was heightened by his non-appearance in public place and uncertainty of his exact location since leaving the country about a month ago.

Tinubu spoke at his residence in the Asokoro area of Abuja shortly after his return from France.

Addressing his supporters, he said, “Let me take some rest for tonight after a long flight. Eat some Amala and ewedu. After that, sleep a little and then tomorrow, we’ll meet.”

On rumours about his health, Tinubu said, “Whatever they like, they speculate. I’m healthy, sound and okay.”

The President-Elect said he is prepared for his inauguration on May 29, adding that he is still consulting on those that will be part of his government.

“You don’t govern alone; you govern with people. You consult, assemble and then hit the ground running,” he stated.

Tinubu returned with his wife, Senator Oluremi; and they were received by the Vice-President-Elect, Kashim Shettima; Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; amongst many other high-ranking members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
