The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made a donation of N50 million to the Jigawa flood victims.
The presidential candidate announced the donation on Tuesday when he paid a courtesy call on the state governor, Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar at Government House Dutse, while on a sympathy visit to the state.
Tinubu noted that he was in Jigawa to commiserate with the government and people of the state, more especially the victims and those that lost their loved ones and who lost their belongings to the disaster.
He described the flood disaster as an act of God Almighty, noting that the token was just to relief the victims not to compensate them.
“When we heard about the disaster and the level of damages, we made it necessary to came personally to commiserate with our brothers and sisters and identify ourselves and show our concerns, togetherness and brotherhood”, he said.
He urged the victims to submit everything to God Almighty, and therefore prayed for God Almighty for intervention and prevention of future occurrence of such.
Responding, governor Badaru thanked the presidential candidate for the visit and donation.
