President Bola Tinubu has ordered security operatives to go after the masterminds of the latest attacks at Dutsin-Ma and Kankara Local Government Areas of Katsina State.
This is even as he condemned the spate of attacks against the citizens, describing it as “grisly and sinister”, according to the Presidential Spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale in a statement Tuesday.
The President emphasized that more would be done to secure citizens and completely degrade terrorists and other harbingers of death and sorrow in any part of the country.
He directed security agencies to go after the assailants and ensure that they are brought to justice.
He condoled with the families of the deceased, as well as the Government and people of Katsina State, and prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed.
It would be recalled that about 26 people were killed in an attack by bandits in Katsina State on Sunday, about 3p.m.
The attack occurred in Gidan Boka village, Kankara LGA.
The Katsina State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Aliyu, in a statement, confirmed that bandits, armed with dangerous weapons, attacked Gidan Boka village, killing 20 villagers and injuring two others.
The statement added that while responding to a distress call, a police patrol team in an Armored Personnel Carrier, APC, was ambushed by the bandits near Kurmeji village via Yar Goje.
“The slain security personnel include three police inspectors, one corporal, and two members of the Katsina Community Watch Corps,” the statement added.
