Tinubu Names Adviser On Senate Matters, Special Assistant On Livestock Development

Senator Bashir Lado Mohammed, newly appointed Special Adviser on Senate Matters, Office of the President

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointments of his Special Adviser on Senate Matters and Senior Special Assistant on livestock development in persons of Senator Bashir Lado Mohammed and Mr. Idris Ajimobi respectively.

The duo, Sen. Mohammed and Nr. Ajimobi are of the office of the President, Bola Tinubu, according to statements by the presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, on Saturday.

Mr. Mohammed is an experienced politician and businessman from Kano State.

He is a former Senator representing Kano Central and former Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

The President expressed expectations that the new Special Adviser on Senate Matters would deploy his immense experience for enhanced synergy between the Executive and the Legislature and for improved government performance.

Also, the appointment Mr. Idris Ajimobi as a Senior Special Assistant on livestock development follows the recent inauguration of the Presidential Committee on Implementation of Livestock Reforms and the establishment of a new Ministry of Livestock Development.

The President seeks to harness and develop Nigeria’s agricultural potential, including the animal husbandry ecosystem, to spur sustainable economic growth, create industries and jobs, and eradicate violent conflicts between farmers and herders over time.

The President expressed hopes of efficient coordination and liaison on matters relating to this critical sector.
