In a heartwarming gesture on Valentine’s Day, Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc, a leading underwriting firm in Nigeria, stepped out of the conventional celebration norms and extended love to the Highway Managers of Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA).

Staff members of Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc took to the streets, distributing essential items such as work gloves, water bottles, and takeaway packs to the dedicated workers of LAWMA along various routes in Lagos, including Falomo Bridge, Bourdillon Road, Lekki Phase 1, and Eti-Osa.

Chief Spokesperson Segun Bankole emphasized the pivotal role these Highway Managers play in maintaining cleanliness and ensuring smooth transportation across Lagos.

He reiterated the firm’s appreciation for their tireless efforts, stating, “As unsung as they may seem, we are not oblivious to the phenomenal work they are doing in making the city debris-free, especially on our highways.”

Also, Managing Director/CEO Olaotan Soyinka emphasized that the initiative aimed to recognize the essential contributions of these workers. “They are often unsung heroes, working long hours in challenging conditions to ensure a clean and healthy environment for all of us,” he said.

Soyinka highlighted the sacrifices made by the Highway Managers, who risk their lives daily to uphold hygiene standards in Lagos. He stressed that the token gifts from Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc were a small gesture of appreciation for their hard work and dedication.

Calling for collective action, Soyinka urged other businesses and individuals to join in celebrating and supporting these remarkable individuals. “Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these remarkable individuals who do so much for our city and society at large,” he concluded.
