The SanlamAllianz Women’s Network has carried out an education-focused community outreach in Eti-Osa, Lagos, as part of activities marking the International Day of Education, reinforcing the insurer’s commitment to inclusive social development.
In a statement signed by the MCC Manger, SanlamAllianz Nigeria, Bankole Banjo showed that the initiative, held at Gbara Community Senior Secondary School, directly benefited more than 240 students through the donation of educational materials, care packs and books to support the school’s library.
Organisers said the engagement was designed not only to address learning needs but also to inspire students to pursue academic excellence, resilience and self-confidence.
President of the SanlamAllianz Women’s Network and Growth Manager, Alternate Distribution at SanlamAllianz Life Insurance, Ogechi Ekwosimba, said the outreach reflects the network’s mission to extend impact beyond the workplace.
She described education as the most effective driver of long-term community development and a critical investment in future generations.
The programme also featured a keynote address by Abimbola Lawson, Company Secretary and Head of Legal and Compliance at SanlamAllianz Life Insurance, who urged students to view education as a tool for self-reliance.
She told the students that knowledge empowers them to make informed choices and build futures grounded in integrity and purpose.
Principal of Gbara Community Senior Secondary School, Mrs Abosede Oyewole, commended SanlamAllianz for supporting the school, assuring that the donated materials would be put to good use.
The outreach, driven by employee participation, underscores SanlamAllianz’s broader social responsibility agenda as it continues to align corporate values with tangible community impact across Nigeria.
