The Presidency has confirmed the appointment of Bayelsa Born Matthew Seiyefa, as the Acting Director General of Department of State Service (DSS).
He is the most senior director of the agency and had earlier served as the Director of the Institute of Security Studies (ISS) before being redeployed to the DSS Headquarters, Abuja.
Presidency announced his appointment through its official Twitter Account saying, “UPDATE: Matthew B. Seiyefa, the most senior Director in the Department of State Services (DSS), will act as Director-General until further notice.”
Seiyefa was said to have had a meeting with the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa shortly after the sacking of the Former DSS Director General, Lawal Daura.
OPTIMUM TIMES recalled the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, sacked the former DSS boss following the torrents condemnation which greeted the siege of the National Assembly Tuesday morning by the DSS Operatives.
Osinbajo had also in a statement condemned the siege as undemocratic, adding that the operation was carried out without the knowledge of the presidency.
He assured that the perpetrators of the illegal act would be made to face the consequences of their action.
