Most consistent, longest-serving Nigerian airline, Overland Airways, in addition to their various regions of operation has announced the launch of its flight services from Lagos to Cotonou, Republic of Benin and Lome, Togo Republic, starting from August 12, 2018.
The Lagos-Cotonou-Lome flights will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Speaking today at the Airline’s office at the Lagos Domestic Airport, Chief Operating Officer, Overland Airways, Mrs. Aanu Benson announced to newsmen that the commencement of regional scheduled flight services is in line with the Airline’s drive to participate actively in regional socio-economic activities and integration.
On departure time, Mrs Benson said that the flight will be departing Lagos at 19:00 to arrive Cotonou at 19:25 and depart again for Lome at 20:00 and arrive at 20:30. The flights will also depart Lome at 21:00 to arrive Lagos at 21:45 adding that the airline will service the routes with its ATR-42 and ATR-72 aircraft, suitable for the type of operations the airline offers.
Speaking on other airlines operations into the west coast, she said “We believe the sky is wide enough for all or as many airlines as possible so every new airline is welcome, the more the airlines; the more the services to the passengers. For Overland, we are offering safe, reliable and affordable flights and at the end of the day the passenger has more choices and more options.”
“One of the most important missing factors facing sustainable economic transformation in West Africa is smooth interconnectivity” she said.
The Airline which 15th Anniversary of its dedicated flight services in Nigeria was marked in 2017 operates to various routes in Nigeria including Lagos, Abuja, Asaba, Jalingo, Akure, Ibadan and Ilorin.
Speaking on the Airline’s subsequent accomplishments, Mrs Benson said “the Airline will facilitate a new environment for business, leisure travellers, families, students, and more essentially bolster that bonding amongst the peoples and groupings in the region. There is need to reinforce unity and prosperity at the regional level.”
