Obowu Development Association Abuja Branch Elects New Executive

Obowu Development Association (ODA) Abia State, Abuja branch, has elected new executive to pilot its affairs.

The election, held at Obowu hall, No. 18 Dr. Fabian Nwaorah Street, Kasana, Effab Metropolis Estate in Gwarinpa,  commenced with the accreditation of members and voting exercise thereafter.

The former Public Relations officer and immediate past vice President of Obowu Development Association (ODA),  Abuja branch Ichie Bede Ogueri Anyanwu,(Mayor) Nnanyereugo 1 of Okwuohia Obowu, emerged as the newly elected President while the immediate past financial Secretary, Comrade Chijioke Innocent Okonkwo emerged as the vice President

Others are the former Assistant Secretary of Mr Boniface Chinwendu Nwankwo was elected as the Secretary, Mr. Philip Ibeh came in as the Assistant Secretary
Mr. Kelvin Okafor was elected as the new financial secretary while Mr. Eugene Akwafue became the Assistant financial secretary.

The immediate past Welfare officer,  Miss Ujunwa Chinyere Okonkwo emerged as the new Public Relations officer while Mr. Segius Ndulaka was voted as the new treasurer, Mr. Chinedu Onwuzuruike came as the new Welfare officer and Mr Amos Anyanwu was reelected as the Chief Provost.

After announcing the results of the outcome of the election, the chairman of the electoral committee, Chief Desmond Ihejirika on behalf of the Obowu Development Association (ODA), 2024 Electoral Committee, thanked all sons and daughters of Obowo in Abuja for the confidence entrusted on them to carry out the election which has been adjudged the freest and most transparent election in the history of ODA elections in Abuja!

The elected officers were promptly sworn in by ODA Legal Officer, Chief Barrister Cenice  Obi Anyanwu, thereafter the resident priest of St. Luke’s Catholic Parish Kubwa,  Rev. Father Bruno Anyanwu prayed for the newly elected executives and blessed the members of the Association.

The certificate of Return duly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Electoral Committee will be issued at the April meeting!

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected President of Obowu Development Association,  Abuja branch,  Ichie Bede Ogueri Anyanwu promised to carry everyone along in his leadership so that ODA Abuja will be taken to a greater height.

He also stated that there was no Victor and no vanquish at the election and he called on everyone to come on board and join the newly elected executive to make the Association stronger and better.

He promised to make himself available at any point in time when his attention is needed for any assignment(s) for Obowu people who are living in Abuja.

In his response,  the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chief Chika Okafor expressed his happiness over the peaceful outcome of the election and prayed that the new Executive would perform as expected.

Among the prominent sons and daughters of Obowu present at the election are the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chief Chika Okafor, The Eze Igbo of Karu, His Royal Highness,  Eze Ezenwa Anyanwu,  the Ezeoha II of Karu, Chief Nnaemeka Uzoigwe, Chief Mathew Nwahiri, Dr Charles Okafor, Retired Comptroller of Customs, Bede U. Anyanwu, Mr Emeka Ibeh, Hon. Vitus Okonkwo who represented Hon. Chike Okafor, Dr Boniface Iheaturu, Chief Thompson Muonaka, Chief Innocent Nwachukwu, Chief Uche Osuagwu, Chief Charles Nwachukwu, the Chairman of ODA Distinguished Chiefs, Chief Dominic Mighty Anyanwu, Chief Roland Inyama, Mr Ikenna Ebere, Mr Marcel Uzor, Mrs Mercy Ebelebe-Ubani, Mr Emmanuel Eboh and others
