She expressed her gratitude for the congratulatory letter to her by ACOE following her election victory, describing the gesture as thoughtful and encouraging.

She stated, “I want to appreciate the good work you are doing. I also want to say that I received your congratulatory letter, and we don’t take it for granted. We urge you to use your association to promote the image of the NUJ FCT Council.

“As a body under the NUJ umbrella, we encourage balanced, fair, and objective reporting, which aligns with the ethics of journalism and fosters accurate reportage.”

The NUJ chairman emphasized the importance of partnership and collaboration, adding, “We are always here for you and look forward to working with ACOE to achieve shared goals in 2025 and beyond. Let us continue to see the council as an integral part of your association.”

Our exco team will also pay a courtesy visit to your office to further discuss areas of mutual interest and collaboration,” Mr. Odiete remarked.

He concluded by wishing the council leadership success in its endeavours and reiterated ACOE’s readiness to strengthen ties with the NUJ FCT Council to advance the practice of ethical journalism in Nigeria.
