NDIC Commences Monday Claims Verification Of Depositors Of Closed MFBs, PMBs

The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) is set today February 3, for claims verification of depositors of the three Micro Finance Banks (MFBs) and a Primary Mortgage Bank (PMB).

The three MFB and PMB were recently closed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)

The affected institutions are Transatlantic Mortgages located in Abuja and Bayelsa State; Langtang MFB, Gracefield MFB, located in Plateau State; and the Kaugama MFB, located in Jigawa State.

NDIC in its official Twitter handle @NDICNigeria, indicated that it was in the process of paying the insured depositors of the banks.

It urged the depositors to come forward with proper means of identification and evidence of ownership of their accounts.

It tweeted: “The NDIC, the official liquidator of the listed banks whose licences were recently revoked is in the process of paying insured depositors.

“We therefore advise that all depositors of these banks should visit the closed banks’ addresses and meet with NDIC officials for the verification of their claims, commencing from Monday February 3 till Friday, February 7.”
