NAICOM Boosts Leadership with New Directorates, Promotes Rasaaq Salami and 4 Others to Director

The Governing Board of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has taken significant steps to bolster its leadership and organizational structure.

At its meeting on June 21, 2024, the board approved the promotion of five staff members to the grade of Director, following a promotion exercise conducted on March 27, 2024.

Among those promoted is Mr. Rasaaq Salami, who will now serve as the Director of Human Resources & Administration.

The other newly promoted Directors are Mr. Ajibola Bankole, Director of Inspectorate; Mr. Ahmad Ibrahim Adamu, Director of Innovation & Regulation; Dr. Talmiz Usman, Director of Legal, Enforcement & Market Development; and Mr. Kamaludeen Barde, Director of Finance & Accounts.

In addition to these promotions, the Governing Board approved an updated organizational structure designed to enhance NAICOM’s efficiency, effectiveness, and adaptability.

This restructuring ensures that the organizational framework aligns with the Commission’s strategic goals and objectives, thereby supporting the executive management in fulfilling its mandate.

The new directorates include Inspectorate; Supervision; Market Conduct & Complaint Bureau; Innovation and Regulation; Legal, Enforcement & Market Development; Human Resources & Administration; Finance & Accounts; and Technology, Strategy & Research.

These changes mark a pivotal moment for NAICOM as it positions itself to better meet the challenges and opportunities within the insurance sector.
