The Ministry of power has denied reported snub of the Minister of Power, Sale Mamman while in Jigawa state for pre-arrangements for the commissioning of the 2x60MVA, 132/330KV Power Transmission Substation in Gagarawa.
A statement by Aaron Artimas,
SA Media and Communications to the Minister said contrary to the report, that Governor Badaru gave the visiting minister a warmth welcome
The Ministry claimed that the report was not only false but a “deliberate attempt to invent a misunderstanding between the Hon Minister of Power and the Jigawa State government.”
The full text of the denial reads below:
Our attention has been drawn to the fictitious and highly mischievous report on the alleged snubbing of the Minister of Power Engr Sale Mamman by the Jigawa State government during his recent visit to the state.
The story was not only a complete fabrication but a deliberate attempt to invent a misunderstanding between the Hon Minister of Power and the Jigawa State government.
Contrary to this misleading report, the 2x60MVA, 132/330KV Power Transmission Substation in Gagarawa, Jigawa State had suffered a twenty year delay and therefore highly expectant to the government and people of the area in view of its huge potential for the social and economic benefits to the people.
To set the records straight, the ministry of Power is planning a very elaborate commissioning of the project in reflection of the importance of the project to the state.
The visit was therefore, to agree with the governor on a suitable date in other to bring every body onboard especially industrialists and large scale farmers to the occasion in view of the fact that the project was located at the hub of the industrial area ofJigawa State, where there are large scale farms, milling companies and other economic activities.
For the avoidance of any doubt, Governor Badaru warmly welcomed the Hon. Minister to the Jigawa state government house and spend the part of the day with him, organised a launch for minister’s entourage, exchanged pleasantries and observed the Jummat prayers together.
The fictitious reports even went on an infamous voyage of alluding the mischief to the politics of 2023 which had no bearing whatsoever with the issue at hand. It is important to note that the Minister of Power and the Governor of Jigawa state have no personal issues to settle as they are neither from the same state nor have declared any political interest as of now when they are focused on governance.
