The Peoples’ Democratic Party, (PDP) in Jigawa state has said it would create the State Roads and Security Agency, (JIROSA), as part of the initiative to bring to an end, the farmers/herders’ clashes in the state.
The agency, when established, it is believed, will apart from assisting in curbing the incessant security breaches, will be saddled with the responsibilities of rehabilitating all the broken roads scattered across the state.
The PDPs governorship candidate in the forthcoming elections, Mustapha Sule Lamido made the announcement while addressing the party’s stakeholders from Guri local government area during the ongoing consultation meeting with all LGA chapters in Dutse, the state capital.
Guri is the epicentre of farmers/ herder’s clashes that have claimed scores of lives and loss of property and millions of displaced persons.
Lamido said, his government, would, if elected, do everything humanly possible to restore brotherhood among the citizens of the state, saying, no meaningful development can be achieved without peaceful co-existence among the people.
Earlier in his address, Abba Anas Adamu, Director Documentation of the party tasked the candidate to implement the law established under the last PDP-led regime to deal with this menace of herdsmen, farmers misunderstanding.
The state PDP chairman, Ali Idris Diginsa assured that, the party would bring to an end the crises with herdsmen as well as all other vices to enable Jigawa catch up with it’s sister states.
