
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has assured prompt repairs of its circuit breaker which developed fault at Katampe transmission substation evening of Tuesday.
The assurance coincides with similar promises to the residents of the environs by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) that those with affected by cut in power supply due to the fault in the circuit breaker would be reconnecting before the day elapsed.
The TCN General Manager Public Affairs, Mrs Ndidi Mbah, said already engineers of the Transmission Company had since been deployed to effect repairs at the substation, appealing for understanding by the public as the fault is one of the unforeseen circumstances in power transmission network.
The AEDC General Manager, Corporate Communications, Babs Oyebode Fadipe, who noted that customers living in Kado fish Market, GODAB Estate, Setraco, Katisina Estate, Paradise Estate, Life Camp & environs were affected as a result of mechanism problem on one of the TCN circuit breaker at Katampe Transmission, said “we are unable to power the Life Camp 33kV feeder which provides electricity in the areas mentioned above.
“The TCN maintenance crew is working to resolve this problem. Our customers in the affected areas who are currently out of power supply are requested to please bear with with us as we are confident that the mechanism problem in the circuit breaker will be resolved without delay by our colleagues in TCN.”
