Mr. Tahir Musa Abdullahi has assumed duty as the new Comptroller of the Jigawa state Command of the Nigerian Immigration Service, (NIS) with a vow to crackdown on illegal cross-border activities across the state.
In his maiden media interaction in Dutse on Monday, Abdullahi vowed to promote ethical and transparent operations with a view for strengthening border security and fight against illegal migration.
Expressing appreciation for the warmth reception accorded him, Abdullahi noted that, as new helmsman he would promote ethical conduct and transparency among his men and in the general operational system of the Service in the state.
“We will work closely with all sister security agencies to secure all the borders within our jurisdiction.
“However we will collaborate with all necessary stakeholders and general public for gathering useful information that will help in safeguarding the territorial integrity of our nation, peace and stability.
“Our paramount duty is securing our boarders against smuggling, human trafficking, illegal migration and other suspicious cross-border movements that may jeopardise the country’s peace and stability and we will use all available resources to achieve these.’
The Command Comptroller then appealed to his men to prepare for more ethical and rigorous operation in making Jigawa state and Nigeria a secured environment for all good people.
