Jigawa Kick-starts 2027 Campaigns As Tinubu, Namadi Continuity Posters Flood State

…APC Keeps mum

Though with more than two years to the next election, the campaign for the re-election of the incumbent president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Jigawa state governor, Umar Namadi has commenced in ernest in the state.

Already posters for the continuity in office of the duo surfaced on Friday in Dutse the state capital. It was also gathered Friday that similar posters have been seen in some of the towns and cities across the state.

Among the strategic locations of the posters included some major streets in the state capital such as Government House Road, Sani Abacha Way Hakimi Street among other places.

Some of the posters have in both smaller and bigger sizes bearing the photographs of the president in his trade mark  Hausa baban riga  with “Zanna Bukar” cap to match with the All Progressives Congress (APC) logo in between have simple message inscriptions such as “Tinubu Continuity 2027”.

But the officials of the ruling APC in the state have declined to be quoted on the development, a chieftain of the party who pleaded not be named because he is not authorized to speak believed there was nothing wrong with the emergence of the posters.

“According to the source, “Remember that we’re operating in a democratic dispensation where everybody has the constitutional rights to express his/her preference for who they desire as their leaders at any particular time.”

It would be recalled that the expanded Board of Trustees  (BoT) meeting of the party last February in Abuja passed a vote of confidence on the Tinubu administration’s leadership and offered the president the ticket to continue in 2027 as Nigeria’s leader.
