The All Progressives Congress (APC), Jigawa state chapter has vowed to sanction any member or group of individuals fomenting trouble within the party by smearing the image of its leaders.
The chairman of the party, Aminu Sani Gumel, stated this in a statement in Dutse, the state capital, following the story going round in media accusing the former state governor and minister of Defence Muhammed Badaru Abubakar of alleged anti-party activities.
Gumels position is in response to the claim by a group which described itself as The APC Solidarity Vanguard, which accused Minister of Defence, Muhammad Badaru, of Anti-party activities.
The group in a petition to President Bola Tinubu appealed to him to call the minister to order, the group alleged that the former Jigawa governor had been hobnobbing with top stakeholders of the opposition parties in the north, describing the behaviour as unhealthy and of great danger to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Gumel said: “The attention of All Progressives Congress, (APC) Jigawa state chapter has been drawn to the activities of the party enemies who are desperate to engender crisis in the party by smearing campaign against party leaders in the state.
“The party has been meticulously monitoring some write-up on social media and main stream media on the calculated attempt by some unscrupulous element to create disturbances in their party.
“Those bad elements who are not even card carrying members of our party are using some few narrow-minded party members in promoting their sinister agenda against party peace and stability”.
“The led APC Jigawa state government under the leadership of Governor Malam Umar Namadi is a reflection and continuation of the immediate past state government led by Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar”.
“The two leaders have the party confidence and regards to the higher esteem, their reputation is sacrosanct to us and must be guarded jealously”
“The Jigawa APC will never allow any misguided elements to create discomfort or a scenario that may deter or interrupted the led APC Government from delivering it’s campaign promises in Jigawa state and Nigeria in general”
“One of the such fabricated sponsored report against our leader the Hon minister of defense Muhammed Badaru Abubakar will be verified and an appropriate action will be taken on it the statement declared.
However, he said, the “faceless group’ that is not in any record of the APC headquarters, Jigawa state had in their smearing campaign labeled so many false allegation against the Defence Minister including anti-party.
Gumel asked “Where was the group when the minister was APC North Campaign Coordinators, and successful delivered Jigawa state and region to president Bola Ahmad Tinibu during the 2023 general election?.
“Other childish and silly accusations against the Minister by the unknown group not even worth to be mentioned”.
“However for the record and public clarification , Jigawa APC will use all necessary avenue within the ambit of law to fish out the group and its sponsored for appropriate political and legal action.” The party declared.
