As Jigawa state commemorates the 31st anniversary of it’s creation on Saturday, the governorship candidate of the opposition People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) in the 2023 elections Mustapha Sule Lamido has urged the people of the state to maintain the existing peace in the state.
While congratulating the entire people of the state, particularly, the five Emirate councils in the state for the landmark event, he stressed the need for unity and peaceful amongst the residents, irrespective of their differences.
In a statement on his behalf, the deputy director publicity, state PDP directorate ,Umar Kyari Jitau said the past thirty one years of statehood have been eventful. He therefore, urged the residents to keep hope alive.
While expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah for making it possible for the state to be have come this far, the young Lamido commended people of the state, particularly traditional and religious leaders for their guidance and resilience that have kept the state peaceful despite it’s numerous challenges.
The PDP governorship candidate also commended security agencies for their hard work and dedication to duty which have culminated in the existing peace being enjoyed in the state despite the security challenges bedeviling the larger part of the country.
He urged residents of the state to fervently pray for the continuous peace, stability, progress and prosperity of the state in particular and the country at large.
