Gunmen Abduct Two International Mission School Students In Plateau

Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have abducted two students of the Calvary International Ministry, Popularly known as CAPRO in Barkin Ladi Local government area of Plateau State.

The School, a few kilometers away from the Yakubu Gowan International Airport Haipang, was attacked on Wednesday night by the armed attackers.

An eye witness, Bayo Famonure, said the attackers stormed the school at midnight in an attempt to kidnap dozens of students who were already sleeping, but some of the students noticed  strange moves and quickly alerted the security agencies who responded swiftly forcing the attackers to flee with 2 students.

He however added, that one out of the two abducted students later escaped during a gun dual between the security personnel and the abductors.

CAPRO, is an international interdenominational Mission Agency with over 700 missionaries from 26 countries, operating in 35 countries in North and Sub-saharan Africa.

Although the school management is yet to issue an official statement, the State Police Command through its Spokesperson ASP Gabriel Ubah confirmed the development.
