The Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has been honoured by the Chartered Risk Management Institute (CRMI) with the prestigious award of “Institutional Leadership in Risk Advocacy” for its consistency in proactive measures in risk management and supervision, among other sterling attributes.
The recognition came at the 2025 CRMI Annual International Conference held at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, according to a post by the Corporation in its social media X handle.
The Institute explained that NDIC clinched the award for its unwavering commitment to promoting sound risk management practices in the Nigerian financial system through proactive supervision, robust enterprise risk frameworks, and consistent advocacy.
The CRMI further noted that the Corporation continues to demonstrate leadership in safeguarding depositors’ funds and enhancing financial system stability.
The Director of Enterprise Risk Management Department, Mrs. Amal Haruna, received the award on behalf of the MD/CEO, Mr Thompson Oludare Sunday.
She expressed appreciation to the Institute for the honour and reaffirmed NDIC’s commitment to advancing risk culture and contributing to a safer and more sustainable financial sector in Nigeria.
Themed “Global Risks, Local Solutions,” the conference spotlighted Nigeria’s unique experiences, insights, and innovations in designing inclusive and sustainable responses to global challenges.
Prominent staff of the Corporation that graced the conference include the Director, Enterprise Risk Management Department, Mrs. Amal Haruna; Director, Claims Resolution Department, Mr Sule Olawale; Director, Bank Examination Department, Mrs Adedayo Olukoya; Asst. Director, Communication & Public Affairs Department, Ms Regina Dimlong; as well as former NDIC’s Director, Insurance and Surveillance Department and CRMI Council Member, Mr Mohammed Yayangida.
