CBN Appoints MD Leadway Assurance, Odukale As Chairman First Bank

The Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele on Thursday, announced the immediate appointment of Tunde Hassan-Odukale as Chairman of First Bank Nigeria Plc.

CBN had on same day fired the entire members of the board of First Bank Nigeria Ltd and First Bank of Nigeria Holdings Plc.

Before his appointment, Hassan-Odukale was the Managing Director of Leadway Assurance Company and a member of board of First Bank of Nigeria Plc.

He is a graduate of the University of London and City University, London. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Pure Mathematics and is an alumnus of the Lagos, London, Harvard and Stanford Business Schools.

He sits on the board of directors of various blue-chip companies. He is a member of the Royal Society of Mathematics, the Institute of Actuaries and the Institute of Directors.
