The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has extended it strike with three months effective 12.00 am Monday, 9 May, 2022.

ASUU President, Professor Victor Emmanuel Osodeke disclosed this on live Radio programme, AIT Political Platform, Monday morning.

He said that the Federal Government is currently not taking to the union, but instead resorted to stopping their salaries with the hope of forcing them back to school with starvation.

He vowed that the government will not succeed in its antics.

The ASUU President cited that the Minister of Labour, Dr. Chris Ngige had written to the Head of Service to stop payment of salaries to the striking academic staff.

He also challenged Government to show any letter inviting ASUU for any discussion if it (Federal government) claims that it is talking with ASUU.
