The Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) has ordered the general removal of the ”All Eyes on the Judiciary” advertisement billboards across Nigeria with immediate effect.

ARCON Director, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, announced in a statement saying the advert is insensitive and has failed in accordance to vetting guidelines on some grounds.

He said the advertisement is controversial and capable of instigating public unrest and breach of public peace.

Federal Government has also dissolved the Advertising Standard Panel (ASP) secretariat over its approval of the advert and inability to function as efficient gatekeepers of advertising, advertisement, and the marketing communications.

The ”All Eyes on the Judiciary” initially started as social media campaign by the supporters of the Labour party presidential candidate Peter Obi in the 2023 February general election.

The campaigners have claimed that the judiciary intended to favor the current President Bola Tinubu.
