The Head of National Office, West African Examination Council (WAEC) Nigeria, Mr. Isaac Adenipekun has commissioned the council’s ultra modern three (3) storey building of the Human Resource Management Department and Staff Residential Complex.
The council’s Human Resource Management Department and Staff Residential Complex located at No. 4, Alhaji Mudashiru Awe Street, Yaba and No. 2, Ayoola Coker Street, GRA, Ikeja respectively were comissioned Tuesday in Lagos.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Adenipekun revealed that both buildings were commenced in 2017.
In his words, the HRMD Complex was built to serve as a hub for all the activities and operations of human resource in WAEC, Nigeria and for all Human Resource practitioners in Nigeria and beyond.
“Before now, the offices of the Human Resource Management Department operated from separate office buildings with its obvious challenges. However, beginning from today, all the Department’s operations will function from this Ultra Modern Complex.”
In his optimism, he stated that the building which comprise four (4) training rooms; a Library, and a Boardroom which will be equipped with real time modern technology gadgets that will enable digital communications will take care of the challenges associated with the training of staff of the Council.
Also speaking, the Deputy Director HRM, WAEC, Faboro, A. O stated that the management had also commissioned the reengineering process of the HRMD.
“Consequently, the workflows, structure, positioning and deliverables of the HRMD have been critically reviewed and the outcome is an HRMD that will be, by far, more visible, functional and impactful; an HRMD that will definitely push the landscape of all the divisions of the Council towards the horizon of greater performance,” he said.
On the staff residential complex which according to the council would take up to 15 families, WAEC HNO noted that the overall objective is to improve staff welfare and that of their families.
