The Governorship candidate of the Africa Democratic Congress, (ADC) for the 2027 polls in Jigawa state, Sen Sabo Muhammad Nakudu has applauded the recent restoration of Aujara State Constituency by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The recognition of the constituency, which was announced on Wednesday alongside three other states of the federation, was carved out of the current Jahun State Constituency, brings the number of State Constituencies in the state to 31 from the 27 LGAs in the state
Apart from Jigawa, other states that benefitted from the restoration exercise included Kogi, 10 Constituencies, Delta, 6 Constituencies and Benue, 6 Constituencies.
In a statement in Dutse the former lawmaker described the development as a landmark achievement that restores a long-awaited democratic right and strengthens the foundations of justice, inclusion, and equitable political representation in the state.
He noted that the restoration of the constituency represents not only a victory for the people of Aujara, but also a broader triumph for democratic governance and institutional fairness.
According to him, the people of Aujara have shown remarkable patience, resilience, and steadfast faith in the democratic process over the years, adding that their perseverance has now been rewarded with the return of their political voice within the state’s legislative structure.
Nakudu further urged residents of the newly restored constituency to remain united, peaceful, and focused as political parties prepare for fresh primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections. He encouraged them to use the opportunity to deepen civic engagement and support the emergence of credible leaders who will advance development in the area.
He also commended INEC, the judiciary, political stakeholders, community leaders, and all individuals who contributed to the successful restoration of the constituency, describing their efforts as instrumental in strengthening public confidence in democratic institutions.
On behalf of his supporters, and ADC, Nakudu reaffirmed his congratulations to the people of Aujara, praying that the new political chapter would usher in renewed hope, sustainable development, and greater participation in governance for current and future generations.
