The Abia State University Uturu Alumni Association Abuja (ABSUAAA) has elected its new Executive Members with Dr. Louis Nonye Obodo emerging as the President.

In an acceptance speech after the election, the President-elect, Dr. Obodo pledged to take the Association to an enviable height by creating welfare opportunities for members, massive membership drive, and helping to improve the status of Abia State University Uturu.

Dr. Obodo also assured that his administration would ensure that unemployed members of the Association​ ​ were adequately engaged.

Other members of the Executive include the Vice President, Mrs. Genevieve Enwere-Njoku; Nneka Megwaru as Secretary; Ugochukwu Ogbonna as Assistant Secretary, while Mrs. Kelechi Ajonuma was elected the Treasurer of the Association.

Other executive members are: Architect Sam Onumaegbu as the Financial Secretary; Mrs. Sandra Udeike was elected the Public Relations Officer; Comrade Kelechi Nwosu, as Welfare Officer and Dr. Chibuike Nwoke as the Provost.

According to the out going President, Dr. Uzodinma Adirieje, the new Executive would be inaugurated in December while the formal handover would be held in January next year.
