The Senate of Lagos State University at a Special Session on Tuesday, 27th August, 2019 re-elected Prof. Oyedamola Oke, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration for another two years.

Prof. Oke polled a total of 103 votes out of the 104 votes cast to defeat the Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Gabriel Shonaike, who did not garner any votes. One vote was void.

Prof. Oyedamola Oke is a professor of Plant Pathology and a former Dean, Faculty of Science of the University.

He joined the service of Lagos State University as an Assistant Lecturer in 1984 and rose through the ranks to become a Professor in 2004.

His new tenure will commence on Saturday, 5th October, 2019.
