The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has suspended indefinitely an aviation security officer, Jennifer Luka who works with Yola International Airport for stealing $600 from two pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia.

The suspect who is also called Ramatu, stole the money from the bags of the passengers while carrying out her usual search.

According to a statement signed by the General Manager, Corporate Affairs, FAAN, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, the culprit will remain suspended pending the completion of investigation into the case.

“The Authority has consequently handed over the erring officer to the appropriate security agency for further questioning and prosecution.”

“FAAN deeply regrets this unfortunate incident and the conduct of Jennifer, which does not reflect the values of the Authority and its staff.”

“The Authority wishes to re-assure the general public that our airports remain safe and secure for travelers and other airport users,” it stated.
