The emir of Dutse, Jigawa state, Dr. Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi has given his backing to the presidential bid of the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi for the 2023 elections.
The emir disclosed this, when the Minister paid him a courtesy call in his palace in Dutse the state capital on Tuesday.
He expressed his confidence on Minister of transportation Rotimi Amaechi to run for president in forthcoming 2023 general election.
He explained that, issues of insecurity, economy, corruption and drugs abuse remain major problems of present Nigeria, therefore the need for competent and qualitative person like Ameachi will address the challenges.
“I have confidence on Amaechi looking at his experiences as two times speaker, ex-governor and minister and has the quality to face real challenges confronting the country.
The monarch, who described Ameachi as true Nigerian, consequently endorsed him to run for presidency of Nigeria in the forthcoming general election.
While making his remarks, Amaechi said, he was in the Dutse palace to pay homage and intimate the emirate his ambition to Dutse emirate council for blessings.
Amaechi also visited Government House Dutse where he briefed Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar on the Kano – Maradi railway project, which is scheduled to have a top-over station in Dutse as well as to inform him about his ambition to run for president in 2023.army
Also speaking, governor Badaru said, they are still discussing at governor’s forum level before taking any decision on who will be their presidential candidate in 2023.
Amaechi was accompanied on the visit by the Chairman of the Senate
Committee on Army, Mohammed Ali Ndume, a House of Representatives member representing Fagge Federal Constituency in Kano, Suleiman Goro and other APC chieftains.
