Renowned music sensation Ayodeji Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, has revealed his intention to step away from the music scene for a considerable period.
In a series of Instagram posts made on a Sunday, the artist behind “Essence” conveyed his decision to take a four to five-year sabbatical from the music industry, and he even mused about exploring football or golf during this break.
In a casual tone with some broken English, Wizkid posted, “Back in 4 years, make una papa chop him money small or maybe five or I fit still go dey play ball now. Or make I start dey play golf. FIFA or wrestling, b*tch! All of una dey craze! Everybody dey mad. On some G shit, I hope you mofuckas alright body mind and soul and taking time out to enjoy with your loved ones.”
This isn’t the first time Wizkid has announced a temporary departure from the music scene. In 2019, using his X account, he disclosed his intention to take a hiatus, tweeting, “Gone till March! Thank you.”
