… Promises better opportunities for Nigerian women

Nigeria’s First Lady, Remi Tinibu has commissioned and handed over the Renewed Hope Initiative, (RHI) ICT Centre in Jigawa state.
Inaugurating the well-equipped Centre named after her, situated at the Women Development Centre (WDC) in Dutse, the state capital, Mrs.Tinubu said the gesture was a demonstration of her determination in championing the cause of women and children in the country.
Tinubu, who was represented by the wife of the Vice President, Nana Kashim Shettima added that, the construction of the ICT centers is a symbolic strategic partnership and collaboration designed under Renewed Hope for achieving egalitarian development.
She said, the Women ICT Centres built across the six geopolitical zones and Abuja federal capital were aimed all providing more opportunities for digital capacity building of women and children to achieve inclusive economic development.
She however, stated that, the ICT will serve as a women training and capacity building ground to faster digital transformation, digital innovation, digital research for sustainable inclusive growth and development.
Mrs.Tinubu added that, beside capacity building her office would continue to champion for policies and programme that would uplift the social and economic life of women and children in Nigeria and beyond.
In her speech at the occasion, the wife of Jigawa state governor Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi said that the handover of the well-equipped ICT center is a milestone in an effort to build the women capacity for achieving more inclusive and equitable society.
Mrs Namadi promised to ensure the state government in collaboration with all stakeholders has made the Centre protected for achieving the desire goals.
“The centre is for all of us, Every woman, every husband, every father, every mother and child will be mobilized for making the center functional, vibrant and sustainable ” Mrs Namadi declared.
