Based on the barrage of criticisms which heralded the appointment of Engr. Imam Kashim Imam to serve as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), President Bola Tinubu has ordered his immediate withdrawal.
OPTIMUM TIMES recalls that the announcement of Engr. Imam, 24years, was greeted with criticisms mainly over his years of experience and lack of requisite qualification to preside over such a critical parastatal.
His withdrawal was disclosed by Presidential Spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement Thursday.
He said: “President Bola Tinubu has directed the withdrawal of the nomination of Engr. Imam Kashim Imam to serve as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA).
“The President’s withdrawal of the above-mentioned nomination is directed with immediate effect.
“All other appointments to the Board and Executive Management team of FERMA are not affected by this directive.”
However, Ngelale did not give further reason for Engr. Imam’s withdrawal.
