TCN Explains Sudden Blackout In Calabar, Mobilizes Engineers To Site, Investigates Fire incident

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has explained cause of sudden blackout in Calabar, Cross River state, attributing it to fire breakout at its Adiabo 330/132/33kV Substation on Saturday, 3rd September.

It, however, said its engineers are replacing the affected equipment so as to ensure the restoration of power to affected areas.

A statement by the TCN General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs Ndidi Mbah, assured that power supply would be restored as soon as equipment affected by the incident is replaced, adding that Investigation into the cause of the incident is already ongoing.

She apologized for every inconvenience to the Government and electricity customers in Cross River State and pledged that TCN would do all it can to ensure quick restoration of bulk supply to the affected areas.
