Corporate heavyweights from Nigeria’s banking and insurance sectors have thrown their weight behind the upcoming 2nd Business Journal Fintech & Financial Inclusion Roundtable 2025, slated for Friday, August 29, at Oriental Hotel, Lekki Road, Lagos.

Themed “Fintech & Financial Inclusion: The Opportunities & Challenges for Nigeria”, the high-profile event will kick off at 10:00 a.m. and bring together regulators, industry leaders, and stakeholders from across the financial services landscape.

Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc, NEM Insurance Plc, Zenith Bank Plc, Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc, Ecobank Nigeria, KBL Insurance Limited, and Tielle Travel App have all signed on as corporate partners, in what organisers describe as a strong endorsement of the event’s mission.

The Roundtable will be chaired by Dr. Umaru Kwairanga, Group Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX), with the keynote address to be delivered by Dr. Biodun Adedipe, Chief Consultant/CEO of Biodun Adedipe & Associates.

Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Business Journal Media Group, Prince Cookey, lauded the growing support from Nigeria’s corporate sector, calling it a reflection of the critical role fintech and financial inclusion play in the country’s economic future.

“The corporate support from these titans across sectors is a testament to the importance of the fintech revolution in Nigeria’s financial services sector,” Cookey said. “It also recognises that financial inclusion is essential for citizen empowerment and sustainable economic growth.”

Cookey revealed that discussions are ongoing with additional prospective partners and expressed optimism that more names will be announced before the event date.

The 2025 edition builds on the success of the inaugural Roundtable, held at Radisson Hotel, Ikeja, on April 26, 2024. This year’s gathering will explore the convergence of banking, telecommunications, and insurance in driving financial inclusion, assess the opportunities and challenges facing fintech companies, and chart a path for the future of digital finance in Nigeria.

With participants drawn from the banking, capital markets, fintech, telecoms, insurance, media, and public sectors, the Roundtable promises to be a vital platform for shaping policies and strategies that can bridge Nigeria’s financial inclusion gap.
